For lack of a good title, I've decided to call it "The Anil Varghese Wedding Weekend." Snazzy, eh?
Doug and I flew out to Michigan to hang out with our buddies Paul and Sean for most of the weekend. The other highlight would be Anil Varghese finally made it down the aisle.... with a girl!
We arrived with little fanfare @ the Detroit Metro Airport, where Sean & Paul picked us up. We drove to Sean's house, barged in on his family's party, and we showered and dressed up there. From there, we went to the Detroit Renaissance Center for dinner near Greektown. Afterwards, we joined up with some guys from Sean & Paul's church, who were having a bachelor party. Finally, the four of us headed over to a nearby casino to throw some money away. Paul & I threw away the least amount, which I feel comfortable with.
I think we finished up after 2am. We considered going out to an after-hours club, but I fell asleep in the car. We just went to Paul's home instead.

Ooh, around 1pm, we woke up. I got ready very fast, and then Paul, Doug, and I went to a nearby Coney Island for lunch. Then we went back so I could shower, shave, and generally improve my personal hygiene. All dressed up for a wedding, the guys dropped me off at the church in Troy (15 minutes late -- my fault), and I attended the wedding.
The wedding went well, I got some pictures (after the wedding), and hung out with some other friends who had also flown in for Anil's wedding. Teena drove me to the reception, and I stayed there until about 10pm. The boys picked me up, and we crashed another wedding reception that Paul was supposed to attend. Two open bars on one night -- very nice.
What time we finally wrapped up? Not sure, but probably 2am. We hit another Coney Island for late-night eats (more hot dogs), and then we hit the sack.

Pretty girl! |
Sunday consisted of mostly bumming around. I got up very early ("Why?"), and Paul, Doug, and I went to see Kung Fu Hustle in the afternoon. Afterwards, Sean met up with us, and we hit a nearby TGI Friday's for a late lunch. More bumming around at Paul's home, and Paul dropped us off at the airport at 6:30pm.
